Sending money is an integral part of our daily life, it is the bedrock for exchange of value.
At Interswitch, we understand this and have provisioned various formats in terms of API's to process various forms of transfers. Single transfer, Peer to peer ; Bulk transfer, one to many; or the informal cash out service predominantly used by the Super agent networks across Africa.
Verify your customers name by leveraging our free account validation API
When performing a transfer, It is best practice to always verify the beneficiary's account number before performing the transfer. To do this, leverage our free Name and Account Validation section.
Available API calls

Do Transfer: This API is used to transfer funds from one person to the other, wallet to bank account, bank account to bank account.

Query Transaction: This API is used to retrieve the status of a Transaction.

Name Enquiry: This API is used to validate Account Number.

Get Bank Code: This API retrieves all available recipient banks with their respective bank codes.
To make use of any of these APIs, you need to Generate Access Token
Introducing ! Circuit Breaker Feature
Circuit breaker is now incorporated into our transfer Service; you get prompt notification when third party (beneficiary bank) is unavailable to process transaction.
Key Benefits:
- Automated Notification in Response: The Circuit Breaker feature advises you within the transfer response when the intended bank is unavailable for processing with a response code 70120
- Improve user experience management: Response code 70120 - Indicates transaction is not processed because the third-party(beneficiary) bank. is unavailable.
- Guidance for Retrying: The response includes advice on when to retry, ensuring a streamlined approach to addressing any potential disruptions in your funds transfer requests.
